About
Formation 8 was a San Francisco venture firm founded in 2011 by Joe Lonsdale, Jim Kim and Brian Koo. It closed a $448m first fund and a $500m second fund, backing companies including Oculus VR, Oscar Health and Wish. The firm disbanded in 2015, after which Lonsdale founded 8VC.
