Canaan is an early-stage venture firm founded in 1987, spun out of GE Capital, and based in Stamford and San Francisco. It splits capital roughly 60/40 between technology and healthcare, and manages around $5bn. The firm has recorded more than 190 exits, including 73 IPOs. Holdings have included Instacart, LendingClub and The RealReal.
