AbbVie Ventures is the corporate venture arm of the biopharmaceutical company AbbVie, founded in 2009 and based near Chicago. It backs discovery and pre-clinical therapeutics in oncology, immunology, virology and neurodegeneration, typically at seed or Series A. The unit targets six to eight new investments a year and holds stakes in more than 20 companies across the United States and Europe.
